Galaxy Fold delayed

Why? The device recently faced issues on the display. Some of them have vertical and horizontal dead pixels, unwanted screen flickers, and bulge in the middle.

In a recent statement, Samsung said that they will thoroughly inspect the affected units.

Samsung also said that to fully evaluate the units and run further internal tests, they decided to delay the release of the Galaxy Fold.

According to Samsung, initial findings showed that the issues on the display could be associated with impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge and there was an instance where substances found inside the device affected the display performance.

Fortunately, the issues were discovered before the device hits the market. Samsung still have time to strengthen the display of the Galaxy Fold.

The official release date of the Fold will be announced in the coming weeks. It is safe to say that it will be at least a month before the Fold comes out.

Meanwhile, Huawei's own foldable device, Mate X is on track for a mid-2019 launch.
