Redmi Note 7 survives drop from space with pictures of Planet Earth

To show everyone that the Redmi Note 7 has "out of this world" durability, Xiaomi sent the said unit on a mission to space, literally!

Redmi Note 7 took photos of the Planet Earth from space

Xiaomi attached the Redmi Note 7 to a weather balloon to make it fly to Earth's stratosphere 31,000 meters (102,800 feet) off the ground. From that location, the phone's 48MP camera took pictures of our planet.

The said feat is impressive because the phone survived -58 degree Celsius temperature of the space.

The max height that the phone reached from Earth is 35,375 meters with 1 KPa atmospheric pressure.

After taking photos, the balloon eventually popped and dropped the unit back to Earth. The best part? The phone survived the fall!

Even if the phone is protected by a 3D printed frame, surviving a drop like that is super impressive.
