Two service tiers were also revealed for the cloud gaming platform. Stadia Base is free while Stadia Pro will cost USD 9.99 a month. The Base tier will only be available in 2020 while Pro will only be available if your purchase the Stadia Founder's Edition bundle for USD 129.

It is already up for pre-order on the Google Store which includes a limited edition Night Blue controller, a Chromecast Ultra, a three-month subscription to Stadia Pro and access to the Destiny 2: The Collection. You also get a Buddy Pass so you can give a friend three months of Stadia Pro too.

Stadia Base vs Stadia Pro

Stadia Base will allow you to play games at 1080p and stereo sound. Stadia Pro, for USD 9.99  a month, allows you to play at 4K HDR at 60fps with 5.1 surround sound audio. That is if you have fast enough internet connection which is said to be a minimum of 35 Mbps connection for that juicy 4K HDR game experience. 5 Mbps is the bare minimum while 10Mbps is the recommended speeds to play games smoothly at lower resolutions.

Stadia Base and Stadia Pro does not come with any games. Yes, even with the USD 9.99 monthly subscription with Pro, you still need to pay for the games you want to play. However, as with other gaming subscriptions, Google promised that Pro will have free games released regularly as well as exclusive discounts.
