MediaTek announces Helio P65 with 48MP cam support and more!
Helio P65

It's a new mid-range chipset with improved performance, better AI and gaming, and support for 48MP cameras.

A better chip for affordable mid-range phones?

Built under the 12nm, it uses an octa-core cluster of 2x of ARM's Cortex-A75 big cores clocked at 2.0GHz and 6 more Cortex-A55 smaller cores to handle heavy and lighter tasks. MediaTek shared that these are interlinked with a large L3 cache for improved performance.

In the GPU department, the new chip incorporates the Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU with 820MHz maximum frequency. It also has support for screens with 2520 x 1080 resolution.

The chip now has support for 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.

In the AI department, the Taiwanese company claimed that it has 2x faster performance with 30 percent increase in AI-camera tasks like scene detection and more.

For cameras, the chip now has support for 48MP single cameras, 16MP + 16MP wide and telephoto cameras, and professional-grade bokeh effects. MediaTek also added Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC),
maximum video recording capability is 2K at 30fps, 1080p 60fps, and an improved face recognition with new layer of security.

Other features of the chip include support for WiFi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.0, Beidou,  Galileo, GLONASS,  GPS, LTE Cat-4,  Cat-7 DL/Cat-13 UL with Carrier Aggregation (CA).

MediaTek's new chip is expected to launch with affordable phones this July. It has now entered mass production.
