Xiaomi reveals CC sub-brand for stylish mobile phones

After acquiring Meitu last year, Xiaomi revealed the CC series. It's the company's newest sub-brand focused on making stylish design-focused phones.

According to Lei Jun, CC series means "Colorful and Creative". It is also developed by the  Chic & Cool 90 team. The number 9 stands for the age of the company.

This brand will be different from the Redmi and Mi phones. CC phones will be designed by art students and targeted at young fashion trendsetters that "want to define themselves".

Since Meitu is involve, we can expect CC phones to be selfie-centric as well. In fact, Lei Jun shared that they now have the "Xiaomi X Meitu AI Aesthetics Lab”, combining advanced camera hardware and beauty technology.

So we can assume that CC phones are design and selfie first phones. But hopefully, they will maintain impressive specs as well.

A Xiaomi Meitu phone with flip cameras soon

The first phone of the company could be the Mi CC9e. It's a handset with a 3D curved glass back, gradient unicorn looking colors, and a motorized flipping triple-camera module.

The phone is rumored to feature an AMOLED screen with In-Display fingerprint scanner and 8nm Snapdragon 730 chip.
