Xiaomi releases camera-focused Mi CC9 and CC9e

In China, the Mi CC9 and CC9e have just been introduced. These are the first smartphones crafted together with Meitu, the selfie-focused mobile company that Xiaomi acquired in November 2018.

New camera-focused affordable phones from Xiaomi together with Meitu

Mi CC9 uses a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution, 600 nits max brightness,  91 percent of screen-to-body ratio, and an In-Display fingerprint reader.

Under the hood, it loads with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710e, 6GB RAM, and 64GB or 128GB storage.

The phone also goes with a 4,030mAh battery with USB-C 18W fast charger, 48MP main camera with f/1.79 aperture size and 1.6μm pixel size paired with an 8MP 118-degree ultra-wide cam, and 2MP depth camera. It also goes with AI scene detection and handheld night mode.

For selfies, you'll find a 32MP sensor with AI capabilities designed for skin beautification and Mimoji AR.

The phone goes with Hi-Res audio, 3.5mm headphone slot, WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, dual SIM, and MIUI 10 based on Android Pie out of the box.

It comes with white lover, blue planet, and dark prince color options.

On the other hand, Mi CC9e is a the lower-end model of the CC9. It sports a smaller 6.08-inch display with Snapdragon 665 processor inside. It is paired with either 4GB RAM/64GB storage, 6GB RAM/64GB storage, and 6GB RAM/128GB storage.

The rest of the specs are similar with the Mi CC9.

Mi CC9 starts at CNY 1,799 (around PHP 13.3K) for the 64GB version. The 128GB variant retails for CNY 1,999 (around PHP 14.8K).

Mi CC9e starts at CNY 1,299 (around PHP 9.6K) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The 6GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage are priced at CNY 1,399 (around PHP 10.4K) and CNY 1,599 (around PHP 11.9K), respectively.

There's no word on its international availability yet.
