Huawei is also working with Meitu to improve its photography and selfie game

At the Huawei Developer Conference 2019, Huawei shared some of its secrets behind its cameras. It revealed that the tech giant is working with Meitu to develop its camera algorithm.

To recall, Meitu is well-known when it comes to imaging patents and selfie beauty algorithm. Meitu also has a smartphone arm, but it was sold to Xiaomi to produce the camera-focused, CC9 and CC9e phones.

IT Home shared that Huawei provided system-level camera algorithms to Meitu in order to further meet the user's professional needs. 

A Huawei's technology head was quoted saying "The strength and status of Meitu in the optimization industry is undoubted".

The Huawei exec also hinted that most Huawei phone users use Meitu camera software. The tech giant invited Meitu's team to make special optimization and enhancement to its camera app.

We suspect that some of those phones with Meitu's tech are the Nova and Y series devices.

Apart from Meitu, Huawei also has a long-term strategic partnership with Leica for the cameras of its flagship P and Mate series phones. It resulted in some of the best camera phones in the market today.
