Lenovo releases Tab M8 and M7 affordable yet capable tablets

Before the rise of super-sized smartphones, there were tablets. Lenovo was one of the main drivers of this trend. And ahead of their IFA 2019 event, the brand is pushing to bring back the glory of this genre with the entry-level Tab M7 and Tab M8.

Lenovo reveals Tab M7 and Tab M8 ahead of IFA 2019

The Tab M7 and M8 are bang-for-the-buck tablets aimed at those who prefer portable, devices with a large screen for media consumption and those with tots through the child-friendly interface, Kid's Mode.

The Tab M8 is fitted with an 8-inch IPS panel framed by a thin bezel and with either an HD or FHD configuration. It is powered by a Helio A22 chipset working alongside 2 or 3GBs of RAM. For storage, customers will also get to choose between onboard storage of 16GB or 32GB.

The tab also gets a 2MP selfie and 5MP main cameras. It will run Android 9 Pie with a few Lenovo services built-in and a whopping 5,000mAh battery for up to 12 hours of entertainment on-the-go. The device also includes a micro USB and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The highest configuration of the Tab M8 gets a EUR 159 price tag, approximately PHP 8,745.

Lenovo Tab M7

The Tab M7 is a tad smaller than the M8 but is no less capable. It features a 7-inch IPS display with a 1024x600 resolution on which users can view photos and videos captured by its 2MP selfie and 2MP main cameras. It will come in two versions: the Wi-Fi model with a MediaTek MT8321 and the LTE model with a MediaTek MT8765B.

Like the M8, the device will also get either 1GB or 2GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage expandable via a microSD slot. It will run the (Go edition) of Android 9 Pie and is packed with 3,450mAh of juice.

It will sell in color variants iron grey, platinum grey, and onyx black with a price starting at EUR 99 or approximately PHP 5,445.

These devices will officially roll out in October. Its availability in the Philippines is still yet to be announced.
