IFA 2019: TCL PLEX with specialized punch-hole screen (Dotch) announced!
Surprise! TCL, one of the biggest TV makers in the world just launched a phone, the PLEX.

TCL's smartphone with a specialized display!
TCL PLEX features a premium-looking 3D holographic glass back and a 19:5:9 6.53-inch IPS FHD+ display with NXTVISION technology. It has a punch-hole for the selfie-camera dubbed as the "Dotch".
TCL said that its screen is intensified with a 6-axis color enhancement for radiant images.

Under the hood, it runs with an 11nm 2.0GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor with Adreno 612 GPU. It is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage via microSD.

It is powered by a 3,820mAh battery capacity with USB-C Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support.
For the cameras, you will find that it uses a 48MP f/1.8 Sony IMX586 primary camera paired with a 16MP f/2.4 ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP low light sensor. It also has a dual-tone LED flash. For selfies, it uses a 24MP front snapper.
The phone also has Smart Key which adds programmable single, double or long-press action.
One key feature of this device is it goes with the T-Cast app designed to control TCL-branded smart TVs.
It also has a fingerprint scanner at the back, 4G LTE, and Android 9.0 Pie OS.
TCL said that it will be available in Obsidian Black and Opal White colorways in Europe this Q4 2019.
It retails for EUR 329 or around PHP 18.8K out of straight conversion.
So far, we find this as an interesting move for the well-known TV brand. Let's see if they can be as successful as Samsung and LG in the mobile phone world.
