Smart introduces #CyberSmart Caravan to introduce cybersecurity to teachers

Smart recently organized the #CyberSmart Caravan in observation of the National Teachers Month and Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

To equip teachers and students against risks of being online

The company recently prepared this caravan, and around 200 teachers all over Metro Manila attended this event. The purpose of this advocacy is to increase their knowledge regarding online safety and data privacy.

Smart public affairs senior manager and education program head Stephanie Orlino explained the significance of this cause, As technology advances, teachers also need to stay updated on the latest developments online. The more they know, the more they are equipped to safeguard themselves and their students from online hazards.

The #CyberSmart Caravan took place in Don Alejandro Sr. Science and Technology High School in Quezon City. There were featured lessons on data privacy, social engineering, internet safety, child protection, and fake news, among other issues, through interactive installations, virtual reality games, relay races. Aside from that, there were talks by subject matter experts like Geri Cauilan, Melvin Calimag, Faye Balanon, and others.

This event served as a kick-off of the #CyberSmart Caravan series, as it will visit various schools and universities all over the Philippines to help teachers and students in improving cybersecurity knowledge.
