OS 4.1 adds a number of new features for the company's smartwatches. Fitbit Versa 2 now has an improved always-on display mode, expanded capabilities for Amazon Alexa Built-in and a new advanced heart rate algorithm that is touted as its best tracking yet while maintaining the 6+ days battery life.

Fitbit also rolled out new content and tools to improve your Fitbit Premium membership. The update added a personal wellness report that was developed with the help of medical professionals from the University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of California, San Francisco. In addition, Fitbit plans to roll out new programs, challenges, wellness content, and workouts in the coming months in collaboration with partner brands like Daily Burn, Down Dog, Gaiam, POPSUGAR, and Whil.

New innovative sleep tools are also coming with OS 4.1 like Smart Wake which is a silent on-device alarm that wakes you up via subtle vibrations during the optimal time in your sleep cycle. 

The new agenda app will help you manage your daily schedule on-the-go. OS 4.1 also has a new clock face switcher that lets you store up to 5 if your fave designs from the Fitbit App Gallery.

Versa 2 users will now enjoy an enriched always-on display mode with five additional clock face options. It is also now in color and now shows full health and fitness stats, faster transitions between always-on and active view mode. It also has an improved Amazon Alexa functionality.

The 24/7 PurePulse heart rate tracking is touted as Fitbit's best heart rate tracking yet. It has an improved advanced heart rate algorithm that uses machine learning to track your heart rate during Sleep Stages and other activities.

Fitbit OS 4.1 will begin rolling out to Fitbit smartwatches in the first week of December. Fitbit Premium members can already start enjoying the many updates it got.
