Globe earns ISO 27001:2022 certification, expands information security governance scope

The telco's new certification broadens beyond core data center operations to include corporate governance and information security implementation.

Wider scope, stronger security

Globe has achieved ISO 27001:2022 certification, an internationally recognized standard for Information Security Management Systems, the company announced.

The certification expands on Globe's previous ISO certification, which focused on core data center operations. The new scope adds the Provision of Corporate Governance and Implementation of Information Security alongside Core Data Center Management.

Globe said the move reflects its evolution from securing infrastructure to strengthening information security governance across the organization.

The company said the certification signals its commitment to accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement in protecting information. It also reinforces Globe's readiness to meet evolving cybersecurity and regulatory requirements.

For customers, Globe said the certification offers greater confidence that their information is managed using globally recognized security practices. Enterprise clients and business partners also gain added assurance of Globe's mature information security governance.

This certification recognizes the governance and operational discipline we've put in place, but the real work is never finished, said Anton Bonifacio, Chief Intelligence and Trust Officer at Globe.

The certification was awarded by the British Standards Institution (BSI) following an assessment of Globe's information security controls, governance processes, and operational practices.

The effort was led by Globe's Digital Policy and Governance Group and Information Security and Data Privacy Group, both under its Intelligence and Trust Office. It involved coordination with the Information Services Group, Corporate Legal Services Group, Finance, Human Resources, and other teams.

Globe said maintaining the certification is an ongoing commitment. The company plans to continue strengthening governance and security practices as the digital landscape evolves.
