International Data Corporation (IDC) has just published its latest smartphone market report for Q3 2019.

It revealed that global smartphone shipments grew from 355.6 million to 358.3 million in one year and the top 5 global players.

Samsung stayed on top with 21.8 percent of the market share with 78.2 million units shipped. It is equivalent to 8.3 percent YoY (Year-Over-Year) growth.

At number 2 is Huawei. Despite the restrictions from US government due to the ongoing China-US trade war, the Chinese tech titan posted the highest growth this year.
In particular, it captured 18.6 percent of the market share versus 14.6 percent during the same period last year. It is equivalent to 66.6 million smartphones shipped and a 28.2 percent growth.
IDC said that it is clear Huawei continues to make big gains in China, the world's largest market.

iPhone 11 series |
At number 3 is Apple with just 13 percent of the market share or 46.6 million units shipped. It had a slight decline of 0.6 percent from last year.
Completing the top 5 is Xiaomi at number 4 and OPPO at number 5.
