Huawei Y9s with no notch, 48MP triple-cam, side-mounted fingerprint scanner now official

Huawei just launched the Y9s. On paper, it has similar specs to the Kirin 710F-powered  (instead of Kirin 810) Honor 9X Pro.

Huawei Y9s highlights a 3D glass-like curved back with Midnight Black or Breathing Crystal colorway. In front, it uses a notchless 6.59-inch FHD+ display with 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and 319 pixels per inch.


Its chip has Mali-G51 MP4 GPU assisted by 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, expandable memory via microSD slot up to 512GB, and 4,000mAh battery with USB-C charging port.

For the cameras, it has a 48MP f/1.8 main cam, 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide cam, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth cam or a total of 3 cameras. For selfies, you'll see a 16MP f/2.0 shooter in its pop-up camera module.

It also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader that doubles as a power button like the Nova 5T, 4G LTE, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDuo, and Android 9.0 Pie OS w/ EMUI 9.1 skin.

The handset measures at 163.1 x 77.2 x 8.8 mm and weighs 206 grams.

It is priced at around EUR 215 in Iraq. That's equivalent to around PHP 11.9K in Philippine Peso without taxes and duties yet.
