Not only DxOMark evaluated the performance of smartphone cameras but the original Google also did conduct testing on this subject. In those tests, Apple iPhone 11 is at par with Huawei P20 Pro at 109 points for photography and videography scoring.

A pretty decent score!

In the past year, the iPhone 11 series undeniably became one of the top brands in terms of popularity. This series is composed of the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and the Pro Max variant and they are all well-known for a superb camera. This point is somehow proven with a DxOmark rating for iPhone 11 of 109 points in its benchmarking tests. The iPhone 11 is just a point behind Xiaomi Mi 9 which garnered 110 points.

Moreover, it can be noted that iPhone 11 is ahead with its predecessor iPhone XS Max which got a score of 106 points. However, it was not able to surpass the higher-end variants of its own series. For example, the iPhone 11 Pro Max scored 117 overall.

The explanation behind that scoring may rely on the fact that iPhone 11 does not have a third lens, unlike the said variant. But then, it was able to score 112 points in still images, with its strong point in its quick autofocus and excellent image exposure. Apart from that, the ultra-wide lens of this device got positive remarks.

On the other hand, the iPhone 11 got behind because of two main reasons. First is the short focal length for portrait mode and low zoom quality at medium to long ranges. According to DxOMark, this premium device has a visible jello effect when walking and recording simultaneously. In addition to that, it was reported that its white balance tends to suffer during indoor use.

For videography, the Apple iPhone 11 had 101 points with its exposure as the main focus again.

Aside from that attribute, color reproduction is superb while the stabilization is commendable. Overall, the benchmarking platform concluded that iPhone 11 is "the device is very capable of shooting both stills and video" and one of the bests for mobile photography.
