Microsoft Edge Chromium highlights
This new browser will entirely take place of the built-in browser of Windows users in the months to come with an automatic update.
The software maker is launching this version to OEMs today, so there will be machines that will be pre-installed with this. Then this Edge Chromium browser is going to be directly included in the upcoming Windows 10 update, which will also be utilized for foldable and dual-screen devices.
Some of the features of Edge Chromium are similar to the ones with Chrome. For example, it also has synchronization of data such as favorites, settings, addresses/contact info, and passwords.

The history sync and extension are still absent in this version, but they are going to be added this year according to the report. Aside from that, the Edge Chromium includes support for Chrome extensions.
The main difference between Edge to Chrome is its features like Collections, which allows users to organize images and content from the web. Moreover, Edge Chromium includes support for 4K Netflix with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.
There is also a feature called track prevention which can enable the user to avoid being tracked on the web on three different levels. The default setting is set to block trackers from websites that were not visited before. This feature is claimed to ensure blocking less personalized and harmful trackers from ads.

Additionally, there’s a rigid setting that restricts the majority of trackers on the web. However, some parts of these sites might not work correctly as a consequence.
For those who are interested to try these new features of Edge Chromium, there are options to download it for Windows or macOS at the Microsoft Edge website.
This can be downloaded by the public, as a stable version of the browser after Microsoft announced its move to redirect with Chromium. The initial plan was created for business users of Windows and macOS, but consumers can also conveniently download and then use it.
Do you think this new browser is more efficient than Google Chrome? What are your thoughts on this?
