DxOMark: HONOR V30 Pro scores 122 points, trounces Mate 30 Pro and CC9 Pro!
122 points!

The new second-highest-rated mobile camera in the world

It achieved a photo score of 134 points and a video score of 102 points to get an average score of 122 points. That score is good enough to beat the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the Xiaomi CC9 Pro Premium Edition for the second-highest mobile camera rating at DxOMark.

Only the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G has a higher score than the HONOR V30 Pro.

HONOR achieved this feat by using a new 40MP f/1.6 Sony IMX600 1/1.7-inch sensor with Dual OIS, 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with OIS. All of the sensors have PDAF and laser autofocus to ensure fast and accurate focus.

DxOMark noted that it can capture images with high detail and low noise, accurate exposures with wide dynamic range, good zoom performance up to the medium range, effective bokeh shots with accurate depth estimation, and night exposures with a pleasant texture and noise rendering.

For videos, it has accurate target exposures, nice color rending both for outdoors and indoors, and effective stabilization.

Jumping almost to the very top of our rankings, the Honor V30 Pro is going to catch the eye of smartphone photography enthusiasts, as it delivers comparable or better image quality than some of the more expensive flagship competition, with excellent zoom, bokeh, night, and flash shots. Some very minor autofocus instabilities prevented it from securing the top spot in our ranking, however; and if ultra-wide-angle shots are a key consideration, make sure the 16:9 ratio output suits your needs.

Excellent detail and low noise are standout characteristics on all three of the Honor V30 Pro's rear cameras, nearly matching the class-leading high resolution output of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition, but with noticeably less noise. If you’re in the market for a new phone and want knockout image quality, you won’t go far wrong with the Honor V30 Pro.

Apart from its main camera, the HONOR V30Pro also has an interesting dual-camera configuration with a 32MP main cam and an 8MP ultra-wide cam.

Most likely, DxO will also publish its selfie camera review of this phone. I won't be surprised if it will achieve a pretty high rating as well.
