The Mate 30 Pro score made Huawei Mate 30 5G ahead of the competition. In comparison. Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G only achieved 117 points. The closest to Huawei Mate 30 is the Xiaomi CC9 Pro Premium with 121 points.
The LTE version of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro was the top-ranked device for DXOMARK Camera since its launch in September 2019, thanks to excellent performance across all test areas. It has now been dethroned by the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, which unsurprisingly delivers very similar image and video quality in most situations, but has been refined in some key areas through optimized software tuning.
DxOMark noted that the reason why it has a higher score is Mate 30 Pro 5G's camera software is more refined than the 4G version.
While it was not mentioned in the review, let us also note that the Kirin 990 5G has a tri-core NPU to handle AI-related task compared to the dual-core NPU of Kirin 990 4G.
As a quick recap, Mate 30 5G highlights a 40MP f/1.8 RGGB CFA Cine Camera with a 1/1.54-inch sensor, a 3:2 aspect ratio, 40MP f/1.6 RYYB CFA SuperSensing Camera with OIS, an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera, and a 3D Depth Sensing camera.
