DxOMark: Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro has the highest audio rating yet

After bagging the top camera rating, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro got the highest audio score that DXOMARK had ever tested.

Xiaomi's latest flagship device Mi 10 Pro was put through a meticulous DxOMark Audio test suite to gauge its performance in two attributes. The first thing is its recording sound using its built-in speakers. Next is playing audio back through its speakers.

The Mi 10 Pro has landed on the top spot with an overall audio score of 76 points, defeating Huawei Mate 20 X by just one point. DxOMark noted that this is a striking achievement for Xiaomi since the Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition did not do good in the audio scoring. Xiaomi designed the Mi 10 Pro with two side-firing speakers so it has a big advantage over the single-speaker design of Mi CC9 Pro.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro got 77 in audio playback tests with sub-scores of 78 for Playback Timbre and 77 for Playback Spatial rendering. Moreover, the sub-score in Timbre shows that this device has an outstanding tonal reproduction. Aside from that, it was able to surpass other flagship phones in the accuracy of bass reproduction.

Overall performance of Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro

The spatial reproduction of this smartphone was also well improved. With this, those who are pleased with watching movies or doing sound trips on phone will be impressed with its sound stage. Aside from having a wide sound stage, it produces a good ability to localize instruments and sound sources.

There were minor cons that were also mentioned in DxOMark's report of the performance Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. First, it has slightly unnatural-sounding recordings in the memo app. Second, there were audible artifacts in a high-sound-pressure-level recording like concerts. Last, the background noise was noticeable in the home scenario test conducted.

DxOMark concluded that Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro delivered the most remarkable overall audio performance among phones that were already tested. Also, it was noted that it was not the loudest device but it did an amazing job in both Playback and Recording tests.
