Huawei MatePad Pro 5G with punch-hole and Kirin 990 5G announced

Along with the improved Mate Xs foldable phone, Huawei launched the MatePad Pro 5G, a high-end tablet packed with the company's most powerful chipset yet.

The Huawei MatePad Pro comes in two versions: a 5G variant and a 4G version. The 5G version with the 7nm+ EUV Kirin 990 5G chip with Triple NPU and Balong 5000 5G modem. The 4G version goes with the 7nm Kirin 990 chip Dual NPU.

The back design

Design-wise, the tablet arrived with a stunning Fiberglass finish in White and Gray or Vegan Leather in Orange and Green.

Large and bright screen

Going to the specs, the highlight of the Huawei MatePad Pro is the 10.8-inch 2560 x 1600 display at 280 ppi. It has large screen real estate with 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, DCI-P3 color gamut, and a punch-hole in the upper left corner to house the selfie cam.

The tablet comes with up to 8GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and 7,250mAh battery with USB-C 40W SuperCharge, 27W Wireless SuperCharge, and Reverse Wireless Charging tech.

The tablet also boasts a 13MP main camera, 8MP selfie-camera, quad-speaker setup, four topside microphones with one rear noise-canceling microphone, M-Pencil stylus with 4,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, WiFi 802.11 ac, and Bluetooth.

The tablet is 7.2 mm thick and weighs 460 grams. The Vegan Leather Edition is a bit thicker and heavier at 7.99mm and 492 grams.

Huawei said that the MatePad Pro will be available in April 2020. There's no word on the MatePad Pro 5G yet though.
