The new desktop UI of Facebook offers a tabbed home screen, sleeker profile, and dark mode. The company says that it should reach the majority of its users today. The redesign was announced in 2019's F8 conference. Users can try the new UI first before it becomes the official one later this year.
It now has more streamlined navigation through different tabs for Groups, Marketplace, and more. It also now has faster loading times and transitions. It also features larger fonts and simpler layouts that promote simplicity.
Here is how you can access the new Facebook look:
- Go to Facebook and log in.
- Go to Settings and click Switch to New Facebook.
If you can't find it yet, you may not have it available yet. The update was first distributed publicly in October and it got positive feedback from the first testers. This update comes in the heels of a big redesign of Messenger as well which saw the removal of the Discover tab to help lessen the visibility of businesses and chatbots.
