The internet is full of opinions. And as with anything, the tech scene doesn't fall short of them, moreso when the center of the discussion is processor brands. One that almost always guarantees debate is MediaTek.
MediaTek Helio G70: dark horse of budget gaming processors
MediaTek Helio G70 is blazing fast for a budget chip

MediaTek is not slow anymore, even on budget chips like the Helio G70

It's no secret that MediaTek has had some issues in the past. Tech critics have pointed out heating issues and lack of support, which are enough reasons to believe that smartphones run by MediaTek processors are much slower performing than their counterparts.

But we can say for sure that these talks are all in the past now. MediaTek, aware of its shortcomings, has improved and released the Helio series. They also cleared the air regarding rumors of slow updates, claiming them untrue.

Fast-forward to 2020, the brand wants to keep its momentum going with the launch of its line of high performing SoCs designed for gaming, the Helio G series.

While many are still warming up to the idea that MediaTek is now among the top runners when it comes to speed and dependability, it's the opposite for smartphone manufacturers.
Realme C3

Brands have started turning to MediaTek to create lean gaming machines, from the flagship down to the entry-level. The realme C3 has been creating ripples in the online community with its gaming capabilities.

Beyond its camera features and affordable tag of PHP 5,990, the C3 is able to run most games smoothly due in large part to its 12nm MediaTek Helio G70 octa-core processor that comes with 2x Cortex-A75 high-performance at 2.0GHz, 6x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, and the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

This puts the C3 above its competitors, even those at mid-range that runs on Snapdragon 665 like the OPPO A9 2020.

How were we able to say so? For its price, the C3 can run graphically demanding mobile games including NBA 2Ks, Mobile Legends, Call of Duty for mobile, and the recently launched Plants vs. Zombies 3.

On benchmark tests, it even rose above phones that are in the 10K range, and that says a lot.

Part of MediaTek's gaming-focused SoCs, the Helio G70 makes close to lag-free gaming possible with two high-performance ARM cores and its HyperEngine technology that efficiently balances the operation every component involved: CPU, GPU, and memory.

We can go as far as saying the Helio G70 will change the game. As it can bring outstanding gaming performance to sub a 10K smartphone, we might be seeing more and more affordable devices that can game and allow us to do more.
