NBA 2K and MLBB for NCAA?

According to Colegio de San Juan de Letran's management committee chairman Fr. Vic Calvo, NBA 2K, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is under consideration to be included as eSports in the upcoming NCAA tournament because of the current COVID-19 pandemic where social distancing has become the new normal.

NBA 2K is a basketball simulation game where you can play and control your favorite teams. You can also create your very own MyPlayer to have a career in the NBA or take on other players in the Neighborhood. The NBA even has it's own official 2K league with teams for different cities.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is one of the most popular mobile games in recent history. It is a 5v5 mobile online battle arena (MOBA) that requires teamwork and high-level skill to win.

In 2019, the Philippines hosted the first eSports competition with medals during the 2019 Southeast Asian games where Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was one of the first video games with a medal award.

Cost-cutting also sees NCAA planning to only include basketball, volleyball, track and field, and swimming next season with a reduced calendar as well.

As of now, campus sports in the Philippines are led by Esports AcadArena which is a collaborative project between Twitch/Amazon and Globe Telecom.
