How does Xiaomi's under-display camera work?

No notch, pop-up, or punch-holes? |
The technology allows Xiaomi to place the camera on the far left or middle of the screen. This allows for design flexibility for the brand.
According to the patent, when the selfie camera is active, the area of the display where it is located will become transparent. This will then reveal the camera and allow it to capture images. Once you are done using it, the display will revert to its usual look and function.
This shows another innovation in terms of the display panel itself. Manufacturers always seem to push the functionality and features of the display panels with flexible display becoming the trend not long ago.
