Entry-level Redmi 9 phones to launch in PH

Two entry-level devices are scheduled to arrive from Redmi in the Philippines. We confirmed that these are the Redmi 9 and 9A.

Redmi 9

Redmi 9 had an early bird promo on Shopee last June 16th already but that was a one-day deal. It has a 6.53-inch 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 protected LTPS screen with 2400 x 1080 FHD+ resolution. Inside, it has a 2.0GHz 12nm MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor, Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU, up to 4GB RAM, up to 64GB expandable storage and a 5,020mAh battery with USB-C 18W fast charging.

It also has a quad-camera setup with 13MP f/2.2 main sensor + 8MP f/2.2 118-degree ultra-wide-angle sensor + 5MP f/2.4 4cm macro sensor + 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor with LED flash. For selfies, it has an 8MP f/2.0 sensor.

It also has WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, IR blaster, splash-proof nano-coating, fingerprint sensor, and face unlock.

Some details about the Redmi 9A has been seen in the new Xiaomi brochure. It has a 6.53-inch HD+ Dot Drop screen, 2.0GH MediaTek G52 octa-core processor, 5,000mAh battery, 13MP main camera, and a 5MP selfie camera.

The Redmi 9 is priced at PHP 6,990 for the 3GB/32GB variant and PHP 7,490 for the 4GB/32GB variant.

The Redmi Note 9A's price is yet to be announced though. Stay tuned for the updates and official launch date.
