This is the first time that a local telecom giant tapped a South Korean superstar to be the face of the brand. Smart said that this is a bold statement asserting its commitment to bring "amazing experiences" to Filipinos through digital technology.



In the commercial, Smart and Hyun Bin showed speeds provided by its Smart LTE and Giga Promos. There is a new "Simple, Smart Ako" tagline as well.

Smart President and CEO and PLDT Chief Revenue Officer Alfredo S. Panlilio said that the tagline sums up the company's effort making amazing technology available and simple for Filipinos.

The ad primarily focuses on the "Giga Life for everyone" scenario through a w
ide range of Giga Promos catering to the different passions and needs of its customers.

Smart offers Giga Video for subscribers who binge-watch the latest K-drams, online shows, and series. Smart also has the Giga Stories for those who love sharing experience with anyone on social medial, Giga Games for mobile gamers, Giga Music for those who won't listen to tunes and podcasts, and Giga Work for easy access to productivity apps for both work and school.

The "Hyun Bin Phenomenon" is pretty much due to digital technology - Filipinos have developed the craze because they are able to stream his shows, hear the buzz about him online, share their excitement with their friends, and even get to interact with him through social media, says Jane Basas, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart

Smart announced that there will be a Smart Hyun Bin Merchandise for its data plans as well. The local telco giant also revealed that Hyun Bin is coming and they're planning 3 events with him. The exact date and time are unverified yet.
