The "elite" features of the HP Elite Dragonfly?

Released four months ago, the Elite Dragonfly was unveiled by HP in the Philippines as one of the laptops made for business.

If you're thinking that since this is made for that purpose so it would be a boring device, then you're wrong. Just to prove you how engaging this premium laptop is, let's look at its features one-by-one:

1. Classy, modern, and ultra-portable designIf you're the type of person who always carries his/her laptop around, then portability and size really matter. The Dragonfly Elite weighs only 0.99kg. For a convertible laptop, that is indeed impressive.

Sure, there are a lot of blue colored laptops nowadays in the market. However, what makes this high-end laptop stand out from the crowd is matte-blue Dragonfly shade with a pearl-like sheen. It's not dull-looking but at the same- time this type of finish makes it fingerprint-resistant.

The Dragonfly Elite's build is not just elegant but also functional!

2. Exceptional screen with SureView ReflectWith its a minimal-bezel design, HP claims that it has a screen-to-body ratio of 86 percent ratio.

Its 13.3-inch FHD IPS display is also a touchscreen and it's equipped with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. These characteristics are nice to have since you want to properly view images or documents for work on a laptop with an immersive screen.

Collaboration and brainstorming are important if you are working with your teammates. But if you're working on a solo task, you'll probably prefer some privacy on your screen. The Dragonfly Elite can give you both with SureView Reflect capabilities.

SureView Reflect has two modes: sharing mode and privacy mode. The sharing mode provides up to 773 nits of brightness and wide viewing angles whereas the Privacy Mode tints the screen such that people passing by can’t snoop.

It has a high-quality screen and the SureView Reflect is quite practical if you are handling confidential data.

3. Stylish but durable keypadBusy professionals and even students tend to eat while working, and there are times that laptops were destroyed because of spilled liquids. But for this laptop, HP designed its keyboard with a spill-resistant feature. There's no IP rating mentioned but at least this adds some sense of durability.

Another good thing is the keys themselves. They are relatively quiet so you can type quietly an email or report without too much noise. With those, no need to mute on your Zoom conference calls for work.

And if there's no worry if your home office's lighting is a bit dim because its keypad is also backlit.

4. Superb sound quality with Bang & Olufsen speakersAudio quality is still an important factor in considering a work laptop, especially for those who are working in the multimedia and creatives. The good news is, HP did not shortchange the Dragonfly Elite in this aspect.

Even with its slim exterior, HP managed to equip this laptop with premium  Bang and Olufsen speakers that deliver high-quality sound.

Apart from that, there are three microphones so the user can make clear calls. The two are positioned on the top bezel while the remaining one is on the top of the lid. That microphone is located facing outwards so it can detect and filter out ambient noise.

5. Respectable speed and strong battery performanceWe are familiar with the scenario of opening multiple apps while working the whole time. You probably open the browser for research, your document-related applications, and perhaps music-streaming apps like Spotify or Youtube.

This means your laptop should have enough processor power to handle many activities simultaneously.

The Dragonfly Elite runs by up to 8th Generation Intel Core i7 coupled with 16GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD with 32GB Intel Optane memory.

This capable internals is complemented by long battery life. It can even endure roughly 24 hours of usage in a single charge.

While it is not running on the newest version of Intel chips, actual performance is still decent for most business-oriented users. It is even good enough for light to modern photo and video editing tasks.

6. Rechargeable G3 Pen for DoodlingIt's also nice to know that Dragonfly Elite includes a variety of inputs, from its keypad, its trackpad, and an additional accessory—the G3 pen.

The pen supports a variety of functions like handwriting recognition, on-screen drawing, annotation, and cursor control.

Also, it has a smart feature that notifies its user if the pen is located far away from the laptop. In a way, this can reduce the probability of losing the pen somewhere when you are preoccupied or busy.
