The post reads that "Starting from 2021, Filipinos will have an easy way to visit Russia." The e-visa will allow visitors to apply for a Russian visa entirely online.

The embassy said that there's no need for an invitation, hotel booking, or any other documents to confirm the reasons for travel. It also noted that the e-visas will be issued for tourism, business, humanitarian, and guest trips.

To recall, Russia's e-visa is not new. It first launched in 2017. But, it has a number of restrictions like foreigners could only enter Russia through checkpoints in the Far Eastern Federal District, St. Petersburg, Leningrad, and Kaliningrad regions.

Now, the e-visas will be applicable all throughout Russia.

Moreover, the duration of stay for foreigners will be extended to 16 days from just 8 days. The consular fee is USD 40 (around PHP 2K) and it is FREE for children under 6 years of age.
