Android 10 for all capable Nokia smartphones

Nokia remains at the forefront of both Android OS and security updates. This is backed by Counterpoint's research that shows 94 percent of Nokia smartphone portfolio has been updated to the latest Android version within a year of a new update's release. With the update of Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1, HMD Global celebrated its 1,000th software update implementation in a span of 3 years.

HMD Global also released its timeline for Android 11 updates to capable Nokia devices as well. The rollout is planned to start in Q4 2020. The first devices in line for the Android 11 update this year are the Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 5.3 as well as Nokia 2.2 and Nokia 8.1.

Android 11 promises an update to give users an easy-to-use OS, streamline UI, with no bloatware. For Nokia smartphones, you can now manage conversations across different messaging platforms in one place. You also get Google Assistant to provide you with a snapshot of your day as well as a Permissions Auto Reset feature.

Nokia handsets promise a pure, secure, and up-to-date Android experience. They come with up to three years of monthly security updates and two years of OS updates. In fact, the recently launched smartphones, even in the entry-level segment such as the Nokia 3.4 and 2.4, are already primed for the next update, Android 12.
