A huge hit: Xiaomi sold 500,000 units of Mi 11 in China!

In China, Xiaomi's Mi 11 was allegedly a hit. It was first revealed that the company has sold over CNY 1.5 billion in just 5 minutes. Originally, the company speculated to have sold over 350,000 units of the said device.

But today, Xiaomi confirmed that it has sold over 500,000 units of the new Mi 11 flagship smartphone.

This suggests that the Mi 11 is a huge hit despite its removal of the in-box charger in an effort to go green and help save the environment (you can still opt to buy the Mi 11 with a charger bundle for the same price if you need it).

The majority of the Mi 11 buyers still purchased the one with the charger, but about 20,000 during the first sale who already have a spare charger at home purchased the "Green Edition" of the Mi 11.

Because of this, Xiaomi held a celebration party attended by Xiaomi executives including co-founder Lei Jun.

To recap, probably attracted a lot of buyers in China as it is the very first to feature Qualcomm's new 5nm Snapdragon 888 top-of-the-line chipset.
