Track and locate "even non-connected"

From the word tag, the new accessory from the South Korean giant is obviously something that can be attached to the user's essential things. Samsung Galaxy SmartTag is a tile-like object tracker.

As you can see, it is a diamond-shaped tracker with a punch hole on the upper part of its facade where you can put a lace, cord, string, or whatever you have to attach it to your personal belongings.

When we say 'object', it's not limited to non-living things such as a car or home keys, bag, wallet, and other personal things. But, according to Samsung, the SmartTag can also track and locate your home pets! Cool, isn't it?

When paired, the SmartTags automatically sends data to your smartphone through an app. The SmartTag connects to your smartphone with the Samsung SmartThings which is available on both iOS and Android. The said app can help users locate a lost phone even if it's offline (which explains the "even non-connected" feature mentioned by Samsung), by allowing other Samsung Galaxy devices in the vicinity to detect a Bluetooth Low Energy signal that it puts out.
