The Vietnam Electronics Sports and Entertainment Association (VIRESA) has announced the list of games that will be included in the 31st SEA Games 2021.
There will be a total of 10 Esports tournament that will happen, namely Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, FIFA Online 4, Free Fire, Arena of Valor, Crossfire, PUBG mobile, League of Legends, and 2 divisions consisting of Male and Female divisions for League of Legends Wild Rift.
However, Dota 2, StarCraft II, Hearthstone, Pro Evolution Soccer, and Tekken 7 were removed from the lineup.
The 31st SEA Games 2021 will be held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, Vietnam, from November 21st to December 2nd.
The list of Esports titles was decided by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. Based on the announcement., The 31st SEA GAMES will have 40 disciplines and participants from eleven Southeast Asian Countries.
This will be the second time that Esports will be included in the SEA Games competition. The first one happened last 2019 in the Philippines. To recall, Our country manages to bag 3 Gold medals from the Esports Tournament section, where bragging rights earned from the games Dota 2, StarCraft II, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
Furthermore, Razer the official esports partner for 2019's 30th SEA Games has announced its interest to be once again the official sponsor for the upcoming 31st SEA Games.
