Build/Design - The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra sports a metal frame, a glass front, and a glass back with a frosted finish. It sports an accented camera bump at the back with a quad-sensor setup. It feels and looks premium as a flagship should be. It has Gorilla Glass Victus protection as well as IP68 water and dust resistance.

The Xiaomi Mi Ultra 11 also has a metal frame with a ceramic back with a glossy finish. It also has a horizontal rectangular camera hump housing the quad-camera setup and the rear Always-On AMOLED screen. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection and it is also IP68 water and dust resistance.

Display - The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra features a 6.8-inch  2.5D curved Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz screen w/ QHD+ 3200 x 1440 resolution at 516 ppi. Again, it has Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has a 6.81-inch Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protected E4 AMOLED  screen w/ 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, QHD+ 3200 x 1440 resolution at 515 ppi. It also has a 1.1-inch Always-On AMOLED rear display with 126 x 294 resolution.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra takes the lead here mainly because of the presence of Dolby Vision and the 1.1-inch rear screen. This allows you to use the rear cameras for your selfies. A welcome addition for a flagship device.

Specs - For performance, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra sports the 5nm 2.9GHz EUV Exynos 2100 5G octa-core processor, Mali-G78 MP14 GPU, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, and 5,000mAh w/ 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, reverse wireless charging.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro sports the 2.84GHz 5nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor, Adreno 660 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5, 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, and 5,000mAh w/ 67W Fast Charge + 67W Wireless Fast Charge.

Overall, the difference in numbers between Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is negligible in terms of CPU and GPU. The difference in speed is should be hardly noticeable. Both are top-notch and super-fast phones.

For the RAM and storage, the Galaxy S21 Ultra sports a bigger option at 16GB. Both have a 5,000mAh battery.

However, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra more than doubles the charging speed of the Galaxy S21 Ultra both in wired and wireless instances.

Cameras - The Samsung Galaxy S21 has a quad-camera setup at the back with 108MP f/1.8 + 12MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra-wide-angle + 10MP f/2.4 3x Telephoto + 10MP f/4.9 10x telephoto w/ Laser AF + LED flash. It also has a 40MP f/2.2 sensor for selfies.

It also has a dToF sensor along with a new Flicker sensor. For selfies, it has a 20MP f/2.2 wide camera.

If you will base on megapixels alone, S21 is the winner. But, note that Xiaomi's 50MP main camera has a bigger 1/1.12-inch sensor size than the 1/1.33-inch of Samsung's 108MP shooter. It also has two 48MP sensors for auxiliary functions such as ultra-wide-angle and tele-marcro shots.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra - Bigger RAM option, 108MP main camera sensor, optional S Pen
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra -  faster-charging tech, bigger main camera sensor size, better overall camera system, latest display technology, rear display

Our thoughts

As of the moment, we can say that this is a pretty close battle overall. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra still is a flagship device with a premium design and features. It also has S Pen support which other devices don't have.

On paper, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra also took it to the Galaxy S21 with its own premium build, design, and features. It also has a more updated display technology, a rear Always-On display, a huge main camera sensor, an overall better camera system, and faster-charging tech.

What do you guys think?
