HONOR's first foldable phone may arrive in the second half of this year.
HONOR will launch its own foldable phone?

A new foldable phone coming soon

Last year, HONOR was officially sold by Huawei and becomes an independent business. Ever since then, the standalone brand hasn't launched many devices. However, this doesn't rule out the possibility that they aren't working on any cutting-edge technology.

According to news, the company will call it the "HONOR Magic X" and is expected to be arriving soon in the next coming months. The screen of the foldable smart device will be supplied by Visionox.

In an insider's report, the foldable device's design won't be far from Huawei's. The new standalone company, in terms of operations, did not change much as well. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Honor can keep up with the way its former parent raised its standards. "The new brand essentially imitates most of the practices done by Huawei mobile phones," a source said. As a result, the magic series will include folding screen products".

Based on the previous announcement from Visionox, they have a "Master Purchase Agreement" with the Shenzen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Honor Terminal.

This deal, which was signed last year December 15, 2020, permits Visionox to supply the company with flexible panels and touch screens.

However, there appears to be a slight delay in its release. This is because of the obvious crisis on the supply shortage of chips which has impacted the whole smartphone industry.

The Magic series from HONOR is the premium flagship-level device that competes with the Mate series. This series includes a variety of smart devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and watches, and so on. Magic will also have a number of different series.

On the company's CEO statement, they will unveil an ultra-premium flagship in the Magic series this year. This smart device will go against the giants such as Samsung, Apple, and Huawei.

If this ultra-premium gadget does not arrive in June/July, it will most likely come in October/November, according to Honor's schedule.

Obviously, there will be more leaks and speculations before its official launch as time passes.

Stay tuned!
