MediaTek's 5G modems will be key to this project

Since the start of the new normal in 2020, many regions relied on the shift to digital workflows to aid their economies. The demand for sustainable and reliable solutions for different applications like online education, remote work, and even entertainment boomed due to COVID-19 lockdowns.

The 5G industry is helping accelerate the shift to digital norms, especially in China. According to a report from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, there are now 280 million 5G mobile phone users in China alone. This accounts for more than 80 percent of the global 5G market.

That is why China Mobile will further expand cooperation with partners in addition to mobile phones. It looks to add more 5G products to help enable 5G in more areas and accelerate the overall development of the digital economy.

The four big names collaborating are China Mobile, Intel, MediaTek, and HP. First, HP will focus on advanced 5G PC product design and innovations. This will including premium 5G notebook PCs ready for enhanced experiences like faster online education, remote work, video streaming, broadcasting, cloud gaming, and more.

Intel, on the other hand, will contribute expertise in PC platform innovation and performance optimization to provide modern computing technology for China Mobile's 5G PC applications. MediaTek will deliver 5G modem technology and solutions like SA and NR CA solutions for 5G connected modern PCs.

This "4-Party collaboration" will accelerate the promotion of 5G connected PC product innovation, expand 5G connected PC using scenarios, and continue to enrich 5G applications, to provide consumers with quality products and user experience.
