Amazon Echo and Echo Dot International versions to ship in PH

Amazon recently announced that the 4th Gen Echo and Echo Dot International Version smart speakers are officially arriving in the Philippines.

Amazon Echo and Echo Dot smart speakers with Alexa in tow. It is the first time that these Amazon smart devices will be officially shipping to the Philippines complete with full Amazon support.

Amazon Echo features a sleek, spherical design with RGB lighting around its base. It has a 1 x 3-inch woofer and 2 x 0.8-inch tweeters. It also supports dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Sidewalk, and 3.5mm audio in/out. The Amazon Echo Dot only has a 1.6-inch speaker, 3.5mm line out, and dual-band WiFi.

For the Philippines, both smart speakers will feature local news sources such as ABS-CBN, News5-TV5 Philippines, Cignal OneNews Philippines along with international global news networks like Reuters.

Alexa is also more informed about Philippine histories such as local holidays, local sports, food, traditions, places, celebrities, and more. Just ask Alexa the appropriate questions and she will provide the answers.

Spotify is also supported out of the box, TuneIn will also give access to local FM radio stations as well. Unfortunately, some US features such as Alexa Guard, Amazon Kids, and In-Skill purchases will not be available in the Philippines.

Alexa Skills Kit will also be available for developers in the Philippines to provide them the ability to create skills across different categories for Alexa.

You can get both Amazon smart speakers via Amazon.com. It is only available in USD pricing though and you would have to shell out around USD 20+ more for shipping.
