Sadly, this feature won't be available in countries like the Philippines

At WWDC 2021 keynote, Apple introduced several new software features and services that include iCloud+'s Private Relay. This new feature encrypts traffic coming from a device then reroutes the requests through two relays. Which results in no one, including Apple can use, access a device's IP address, location, and browsing activity.

Apple Insider explains that the Private Relay works by sending web traffic first to an Apple server which strips it of its IP address. It then travels to a third-party second-server where it will be assigned a temporary IP address before it reaches its final destination.

This feature is designed to hide the online browsing habits of users from internet service providers, ad servers, and other entities looking to create profiles based on information gathered from users.

Apple claims that even the company cannot connect the dots between users and the visited websites. The company also said that it will disclose the third-party server partners at a later date.

Reuters reports that the new Private Relay service will not be available in Belarus, Colombia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkmenistan, Uganda, China, and the Philippines due to local restrictions.
