Apple TV on Android TVs?

NVIDIA was the first one to break the news that Apple TV may be heading to Android TV devices when they announced the app's arrival on the Shield TV. Fortunately, the app will be hitting the rest of the Android TV OS ecosystem. This will include Android TV-powered streaming boxes, sticks, and TVs from different brands such as Xiaomi, TCL, and Hisense.

You can check it yourself if you have an Android TV device. We can confirm that we have installed it on our Skyworth Smart TV powered by Android TV 9.0. It is not on the Google Play Store landing page for us but a simple search brings it up immediately. Google and other OEMs are not expected to make formal announcements about this so just do your own checks.

Apple TV is now available for Android TV devices running 8.0 Oreo or higher. The Apple TV app features Apple Original shows and movies from the Apple TV+ streaming service. You can also buy or rent movies directly inside the app. You can also let the app itself curate shows and movies for you according to what you watched previously.

This is great timing as Apple just announced its Summer Content lineup that includes Lisey's Story, Home Before Dark Season 2, Physical, Central Park Season 2, and Ted Lasso season 2.

What do you guys think?
