Globe continues its commitment to reduce carbon emissions

The telco said it ended 2020 with a total of 203 fuel cell systems, 6,467 lithium-ion batteries, 212 Direct Current Generators, 60 DC-Hybrid Generators, and 538 free cooling systems deployed across Globe’s network nationwide.

The company noted it started deploying these solutions in 2014.

According to Globe, these green solutions reduce the group's emissions, noise pollution, waste generated, fuel consumption in powering its cell sites across the Philippines.

Globe is hopeful that by 2030, the group could upgrade infrastructure and retrofit its industries to make them sustainable with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies resulting in a 30 percent reduction of CO2 emission intensity based on 2017 levels.
