Build Quality/Design

Back panel

The new phone from Infinix comes in a lightweight body made of glass and polycarbonate.

Upon ejecting the SIM tray, it has a red rubber gasket for water resistance and the tray can hold two nano SIMs and nano SIMs.

The phone measures 171.5 x 77.5 x 9.2mm. The polycarbonate frame and back panel curves to make the phone easier to hold in the hand. We recommend wearing the included bumper case to avoid fingerprint smudges and accidental slippage.

At the back is the rear camera module, Infinix branding and the fingerprint scanner.

The stock camera app features several modes that include AI Cam (Photo), Video, Short Video, Beauty, Portrait and Super night mode. Users can zoom from 1x to 10x by pinching in and pinching out. There is also a 48MP mode and an HDR mode select on the top side of the camera app.

A surprising feature is eye-autofocus that works surprisingly well especially when the subject is well lit.

We will have to do more testing to see how the camera performs in more situations.

It is running on Android 11 with the Dar-link Ultimate Game Booster. It is a special app that manages the performance of the phone along with the games installed on the phone.

As of the moment

Out of the box, Infinix HOT 10S is looking to be an interesting pick for PHP 5,990.

The Phone has a unique design and lightweight build but what stands out are the specs. It is hard to find competition when the phone has a MediaTek Helio G85, 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM, 6000mAh battery, 90Hz smooth display, and the Dar-link Ultimate Game Booster.

The phone has surprising features like the SIM tray has a red rubber gasket and can hold two NanoSIMs and one microSD card and that the camera supports Eye-detection.

We are very excited to try this phone for an extended period and see how well it performs.
