Globe is empowering Quezon City residents and students with digital tools

With the partnership, Globe will expand the GoWiFi and KonekTayo WiFi coverage. It will activate Globe Labs' SMS API, School Bus WiFi, and Loud Up services in the city. This is part of the Globe's efforts to provide reliable connectivity and extend educational support to students and teachers while online learning is in place.

1,000 GoWiFi access points will be deployed in several key establishments in the city. This is in addition to the 2,000 existing and 1,000 newly on-aired access points. These will be placed in select hospitals, barangay halls, supermarkets, malls, police, fire stations, and coffee shops. It can be used to access QC's E-Services hub.

QC Citizens will be able to connect to GoWiFi for 30 minutes for FREE while the QCWiFi will provide an additional FREE 1 hour daily. Citizens will just need to register in the QC E-Services to avail of the additional daily FREE WiFi.

QC E-services is an online access hub to QC government services with contactless transactions for a safer and faster process. SMS API by Globe Labs, on the other hand, enables the QC Government to send OTP / SMS notifications for its ID registration program and allow electronic payments to the city’s e-services hub.

Meanwhile, KonekTayo WiFi, a fast and secure community WiFi, will be expanded to various sites including Bistekville 4, Bistekville 15, Sitio Pingkian, Republic Residences, and Bagong Lipunan Pag-asa Condominium.

Globe also deployed school busses with special antennas that will provide internet connectivity to students and teachers from 7AM to 7PM. These buses will be stationed in Brgy. Sta Lucia by Aguinaldo St. corner Lakandula, Commonwealth by Nokia St. in Dona Nicasia Subdivision, Sauyo, and Pasong Tamo in Marcel Village by Himalayan Road.

Globe has also provided 176,000 data SIM cards for students and 17,582 data SIM cards for elementary school teachers in the city through Load Up,
