Improvement of services from Globe

The Telecom company said that as of July, 97 percent of their micro, small and medium accounts are now on VoLTE capable devices. It was a significant improvement over the 69 percent achieved in June of last year. By the end of the year, Globe hopes to have installed VoLTE/VoWiFi on all of its business postpaid lines.

They also mentioned that the average dropped call rate has seen improvement to 0.97 percent for VoLTE and 0.49 percent for VoWiFi from 1.90 percent and 1.87 percent in June.

For its Enterprise or large business customers. Globe has already equipped 98% of them with VoLTE and VoWiFi. VoLTE is now used by one out of every two customers. In June, both services' average dropped call rates improved to 0.9 percent, down from 1.93 percent for VoLTE and 1.02 percent for VoWiFi.

Connectivity is crucial for our business clients. We enable them to rise and thrive amidst these challenging times through our reliable VoLTE and VoWiFi services, said Issa Guevarra-Cabreira, Globe Chief Commercial Officer.

Instead of the traditional voice networks used by 2G and 3G, VoLTE is the standard high-speed wireless connection for mobile phones using 4G LTE.

To recap, VoLTE has a number of advantages over traditional voice services on 2G and 3G networks. It has three times the voice capacity of 3G and up to six times that of 2G, allowing the network to handle more users making calls at the same time, allowing for faster call setup, clearer sound quality, and fewer dropped calls. Clients can also use VoLTE to connect to the internet while on the phone.

VoLTE and VoWiFi calls work the same way as conventional calls and are charged the same way (unli VoLTE and VoWiFi calls apply if registered to a Globe unli call promo) while VoWiFi can connect to any WiFi network.

Globe is also a major supporter of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, notably SDG 9, which emphasizes the importance of infrastructure and innovation as drivers of economic growth and development.
