With this, it means that LGUs supporting the DepEd will now be able to acquire Chromebooks using the Special Education Fund and donate them to public schools in their jurisdictions. This will in turn support the new learning requirements brought upon by the pandemic.

According to the numbers, 146 cities and 1,488 municipalities already have the Special Education Fund as of 2021. DepEd said that Chromebooks will help facilitate distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also makes sure that these devices will also be reliable once face-to-face classes are allowed in the future.

As a recap, Google Chromebooks range from affordable to premium notebooks designed for educational and business purposes. It encourages collaboration and data security. Chrome OS is a light operating system that runs in the cloud as well. All apps and documents operate in the cloud ensuring safe data.

Acer, Asus, HP, and Lenovo are among the brands that sell Chrome devices for education in the Philippines.
