Samsung Galaxy devices will help put a dent in ocean pollution

As we all know, plastics that are discarded into the ocean are one of its biggest pollutants. These are PET bottles, plastic bags, plastic packaging, and plastic fishing nets. This not only affects the sea visually but it also affects the sea creatures. It is very dangerous to marine animals as they can swallow plastic or get caught in fishing nets and die.

Samsung found a solution to lessen ocean pollution by repurposing ocean-bound plastics and making them part of its upcoming Galaxy devices. Every year, almost 640,000 tons of fishing nets are abandoned and discarded, according to Samsung. Samsung intends to collect and recycle these plastics in order to use them in future devices.

The first devices that will feature these plastics will be the Samsung Galaxy S22 devices and Galaxy Tab S8 series that will be unveiled during the Unpacked event scheduled for February 9.
