OPPO announces an Ice-Skin cooling case made for Find X5 Pro

OPPO unveils an interesting Ice-Skin cooling case for its latest flagship device the Find X5 Pro.

To recap this smartphone is powered with a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or an option of 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 both of which are already built with an advanced cooling solution.

However, it seems OPPO wanted to give it further cooling through the new case which the company claims lowers the temperature by 2-3 degrees celsius more.

The case attached to the phone

Wuhan University engineered a special hydrogel layer for the said case. Regular hydrogels absorb moisture from the air and then evaporate it. But in order to give continuous cooling and not just a one-time remedy, the developers created the Glacier Mat, they modified the hydrogel wherein it can repeatedly draw moisture from the air at lower temperatures of the atmosphere thus leading to a circular cooling cycle.

What's interesting is that based on the renders shown, the Ice-Skin case also looked slim compared to that of the regular ones you can see around.

Some Chinese consumers who preordered the Find X5 Pro are getting the special case, however, OPPO did not mention anything about its Global release. Stay tuned.
