vivo launches flagship X80 series with 4nm Dimensity 9000 or SD8G1 chips and ZEISS optics!

On schedule, vivo earlier launched the X80 series in China. It arrived in vanilla and Pro models.

The new flagship Android duo to beat?

The vanilla X80 is a device boasting a beautiful  Fluorite AG Glass back design with a large rectangular hump containing the circular camera hump at the back.

In front, it uses a large 6.78-inch 3D flexible AMOLED E5 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ a punch-hole for the top-center 32MP selfie camera, and an In-Display fingerprint sensor.

Inside, it is powered by the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G flagship processor with the newly developed vivo V1+ image signal processor designed to improve its graphics and camera capabilities as well as efficiency. The company also added its GPU Fusion tech to further enhance its gaming capabilities.

It is paired with 8GB or 12GB LPDR5 RAM, 128GB/256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, and 4,500mAh battery capacity with USB-C 80W wired fast charging technology.

For cameras, this device is boasting the new 50MP Sony IMX866 RGBW main sensor paired with a 12MP Sony IMX663 ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 12MP Sony IMX663 portrait camera. Sony IMX866 is said to be Sony's best sensor yet. Plus, thanks to its partnership with camera legend ZEISS, the phone has the ZEISS Vario-Tessar lenses featuring the T* anti-reflective coating.

vivo also added laser focus and a color temperature sensor to assist its camera.

It also has stereo speakers, X-axis linear motor, and infrared remote control.

The unit is 8.30 mm slim and weighs 206 grams.

Next is the vivo X80 Pro, the device has a similar design to the regular X80, but with IP68 water and dust resistance. It is also using a better 6.78-inch 3D flexible AMOLED E5 screen with 120Hz refresh rate, WQHD resolution, a large-area ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor, and a 32MP top-center punch-hole selfie camera.

Inside, the device is available in both the 4nm MediaTek Dimenity 9000 chip and the 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Both versions are paired with the vivo V1+ ISP as well.

The Dimensity 9000 X80 Pro is paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB internal storage while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant is available in 8GB RAM or 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB internal storage.

It uses a larger 4,700mAh battery with USB-C 80W fast wired charging and a 50W wireless charging.

For cameras, it is likely more capable as it is using a custom 50MP 1/1.3-inch custom GNV main camera paired with a 48MP IMX598 ultra-wide-angle shooter, 12MP IMX663 portrait camera, and an 8MP 5x periscope camera. It also has a laser focus and a color temperature sensor.

Completing the specs, the device has NFC, stereo speakers, HiFi audio, X-axis linear motor, and IR remote control.

The device is 9.10 mm thick and weighs 219 grams.

Both phones run with OriginOS Ocean skin.
