Canon Philippines announced the EOS R5 C camera along with the RF 5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye VR-ready lens. These are geared toward content creators.

Canon EOS R5 C is now official along with a VR-ready lens

The new Canon EOS R5 C is a small and light camera that weighs only 680 g and has 8K RAW internal video recording. When used with the RF 5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye lens, you can also use it to shoot Virtual Reality videos easily.

With the EOS R5 C's 8K recording capabilities, the RF 5.2mm Dual Fisheye lens can capture 180-degree 3-Dimensional views and record high-quality VR footage. It boasts a wide aperture of f/2.8 that can function even in low light circumstances, and it employs a Dual-Lens Electro-Magnetic Diaphragm that adjusts exposure electronically.

The 45MP CMOS image sensor with DIGIC X Image Processor of the EOS R5 C, on the other hand, streamlines the process from production through post-production by eliminating the need to align and sync camera locations before a shot or stitch photos in post. It can also shoot continuous photos at 20 fps.

Users only need to attach the specialized lens to the mirrorless camera and use the EOS VR Reality software to convert the file to a VR file format using Canon's newest VR video production system which is touted to be an efficient process for Virtual Reality movie creation.

Users can switch from video mode to photo mode with an On/Off dial on the camera body as well.
