Game Well Played campaign launched!

Gaming has gained significant popularity in the past couple of years. Globe says a 2020 statistics shows that there are about 43 million gamers has caused immense growth in the gaming industry of the Philippines and the Southeast Asia region. 74 percent of Filipinos play games on their phones, 65 percent on PC games, and 45 percent on consoles.

Despite this, gaming continues to be associated with a stigma that undermines its positive side in it. As a result, Globe has established a campaign that intends to bring together gamers from throughout the country to showcase the advantages of gaming and to raise awareness and support for the industry.

While there are many stereotypes and stigma around gaming, we believe that there is value to acquire in spending hours of training for a competition or simply getting lost in a new world while meeting new friends. In seemingly dire battlegrounds, strategic thinking and creativity can flourish, said Rina Siongco, Head of Get Entertained Tribe at Globe.

Globe's campaign started with the hashtag #KakalaroKoYanWithGlobe where everyone is encouraged to share their good experiences with gaming and to break the stigma around it by answering the question "Ano nga ba and napapala ko sa paglalaro?"

Popular streamers Cherizawa and Boss Maw shared how they gained valuable skills through playing such as time management, financial independence, and multitasking in a series of social media posts using the campaign hashtag. They pointed out that gamers may hone these talents by playing games like Mobile Legends, in which players must defend their tower while leveling up their skills in order to strengthen their hero. Simultaneously, in a battle, you must be able to look out for and heal your teammates while ensuring that your adversaries are defeated.

A new short video developed by Globe, titled "Good Son," shares this sentiment by depicting how a gamer seeks help from his gaming community to help his family in need. You may watch the clip here.

With #KakalaroKoYanwithGlobe, we encourage everyone to see the good gaming brings beyond the screen. More than the entertainment it brings, gaming can actually help an individual develop skills and capabilities that can help him be more successful in life, enabling him to help others too, said Ralph Aligada, Head of Games and Esports at Globe.

The telco also improve its Go+ offers with GoPlay which promised to bring more gaming and FREE in-game vouchers soon.

Globe also has shown improvements to its services over the past weeks such as being awarded as the best 5G video experience in the country by Ookla.

The company is also dedicated to becoming the leading gaming partner in the country by supporting the Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL), Blacklist International, and AcadArena organizations. They are also teaming up with the play-to-earn enablers such as the Sky Mavis that created the Axie Infinity.

Globe's final campaign from the list is that they strive more by teaming with Telekom Malaysia and Swarmio Media, two leading IT solutions firms that have long supported esports innovation around the world. With this collaboration introduces Globe Gamer Grounds, an all-in-one gaming platform that will undoubtedly spark every gamer's interest.
