Huawei brings the Mate Xs 2 lightweight foldable phone in PH for PHP 99,999!

Huawei today formally announced that the new Mate Xs 2 is now official in the Philippine market.

To those who missed it, this is the company's newest foldable smartphone boasting an improved design, better build, and stronger specs.

The back design

In particular, this phone uses the new Falcon Wing design made with ultra-light steel that is stronger than the previous generation making the foldable design possible. It also has ultra-light glass fibers on the backplate with aerospace-grade titanium alloys and a 3D fiberglass design with a leather-like texture.

When unfolded

When unfolded, the display turns into a large 7.8-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and 2480 x 2200 resolution. When folded (outward folding), it transforms into a 6.5-inch big screen just like most modern smartphones.

When folded

Powering this phone is the older 5nm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor, not the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 found on most high-end smartphones today. Sadly, it is the 4G version of SD888 due to the US restrictions on 5G applied to Huawei.

It also has 8GB RAM, 512GB expandable storage, and a 4,600mAh battery capacity with the 66W SuperCharge tech via USB-C.

For cameras, it is using the powerful 50MP f/1.8 True-Chroma Color Camera paired with a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle and an 8MP telephoto camera with AF and OIS.

The Huawei Mate Xs 2 is priced at PHP 99,999. This is PHP 40K more affordable than the previous-gen Mate Xs 2020 with an original price tag of PHP 139,999.

The device will come with a 1-year warranty with FREE one-time screen protector film replacement, 1-to-1 VIP hotline, pick-up and delivery, and repair if under warranty.
