The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro Ceramic 43mm, on the other hand, features a mix of Ceramic, metal, and sapphire glass to provide a mix of elegance and a high-tech look. The Ceramic material is also said to be durable and is meant to weather daily wear and tear.

The Huawei watches are simply more premium-looking!

Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic is made out of metal and glass for the display. Just like the other two, it is made to withstand daily usage, bumps, and scratches.

The Watch GT 3 Pro series are protected by Sapphire Glass against scratch and breakage while the Samsung watch has Gorilla Glass DX.

In terms of straps, the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro Titanium 46mm comes with a Leather Strap that feels good on the skin. It also feels premium and sturdy as well. It has a stainless steel buckle as well to secure the straps.

For the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro Ceramic 43mm, the strap is made out of Ceramic links that are strong and smooth. The white sheen of the Ceramic makes the whole watch look sophisticated and elegant. It comes with a clasp lock to secure it on your wrist.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic has a silicone strap that is comfortable and soft on the skin. It comes with silicone straps and a plastic buckle to secure it on your wrist.

The Galaxy Watch4 Classic has a watch dial that you can turn around the screen and two buttons found on the right side. At the bottom, it has the Samsung BioActive Sensor.

Among the three, the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro Ceramic comes out with the most elegant and premium look and feel of the three.

In second place is the Watch GT 3 Pro Titanium with its highly durable and sleek build. The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic looks good but with its silicone straps and some plastic parts, it just doesn't feel as premium.

The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro series highlights a new feature that the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic doesn't have. This is the new ECG module that can provide, aside from heart rate monitoring, real-time analysis, sinus rhythm, atrial fibrillation, and atrial/ventricular premature beat alerts. It is also simple to use. This has been certified by China's National Medical Products Administration allowing users to actively prevent the risk of vascular diseases.

You just need to press your thumb at the button/ECG sensor, which is indicated in the instructions, for 30 seconds. Keep still for the duration and you will see the results instantly. It does have a bit of a bug in the Huawei Health App where the ECG tab gets stuck in a verification loop.

The Galaxy Watch4 Classic can only give you heart rate monitoring but no analysis of your vascular health and ECG. The Blood Pressure monitoring feature of the Galaxy Watch4 Classic is not enabled in PH, unfortunately.

In addition, the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro series still has Huawei TruSeen 5.0+ with SpO2 monitoring, Skin Temperature, and Stress Management as well. The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic also has these except for Skin Temperature measurement but it can calculate your Body Mass Index.

Both are loaded with plenty of features!

The device also has accurate GPS positioning capabilities thanks to its 5 satellite systems with GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS. Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic only has 4 satellite systems that support GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo.

For fitness buffs, the watch features 100 workout modes. It is even paired with an AI Running Coach and personal running planning feature based on an individual’s physical, running history, and personal goals. This also has 2 new sports modes called free diving mode and up to 30 meters deep and golf mode.

The Free Diving Mode sets the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro series from the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic. Yes, the latter has IP68 + 5ATM but the Watch GT 3 Pro series has that plus it was able to withstand 200 water pressure cycles during its durability test. This means it can support deeper submersion of up to 30 meters deep!

Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic also has several workout modes such as walking, running, cycling, treadmill, circuit training, other workouts, hiking, weight machine, exercise bike, elliptical trainer, swimming, arm curls, arm extensions, bench press, crunches, and even deadlifts.
Sleep Monitoring and Heart Monitoring

Sleep monitoring is also feature-packed for Samsung. In addition to tracking the hours of sleep, it can also measure when the user is awake, in REM, in light, or in deep sleep. It can also monitor your Blood Oxygen and Snoring when asleep.

One thing that we commend Huawei for is its simple system integration even if it is using Harmony OS. To fully utilize the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro's features you just need one app, the Huawei Health app. Once you pair your watch, you have access to all its settings, features, and data.

By the way, the Watch GT 3 Pro supports HarmonyOS (HMS), Android, and iOS devices.

Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic needs two apps. The Samsung Wear app and Samsung Health app. The former handles watch faces and other watch settings while the latter gives you access to the health and fitness features of the watch.

All of these can be consolidated into one app yet they are split into two. Also, you must put your Galaxy Watch4 Classic on the charger to update it, Huawei's watch can update OTA without needing to do that.

Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro advantages - Premium design and build with Titanium and Ceramic, ECG module, more streamlined app and system integration, better waterproofing with up to 30 meters of freediving, no-hassle update process, better battery life
Samsung Galaxy Watch4 advantages - Lighter weight, Body Mass Index measurement

Verdict

Who are you picking?
Who are you picking?

The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro series and Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic are both great choices in terms of smartwatches.

But, we got to give Huawei the win here since both the Ceramic and Titanium variants of the Watch GT 3 Pro outclassed the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic in significant departments.

Huawei provided a more premium look and build, an ECG module for a more extensive and detailed heart monitoring, a better app experience and system integration, better battery life, and better water protection. You can even get the 46mm Titanium for less than the asking price of the Galaxy Watch4 Classic.

You can get the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro series via the Huawei Online Store, Lazada, and Shopee.
